The Everyone website is a community coded website that anyone with a MelonLand account can edit. Edits are published instantly to https://everyone.melonland.net !

You are very welcome to edit pages, add new pages, and do what you like on here (as along as it does not break MelonLand Guidelines of course). Feel free to use it as a playground, personal web host or whatever you can think of using it for!

Editor pads are mapped to their matching everyone url, so for example:

• https://forum.melonland.net/pad.php?p=playlist - is the pad url for the playlist page
• https://everyone.melonland.net/playlist - is the page it will be publicly visible on

Creating a new page is easy, just enter its name in the text box at the top and click “Make or Open a page”, if the page already exists it will open it for you, if it does not yet exist it will create it and open it for you! When linking to a page in your html code just use its name in the href! You can check the todo section to see if there are any pages that other people have requested.

The everyone editor can be accessed via the “Edit this page!” link on all everyone site pages, plus the “My Room” link in the site nav. Here is a brief tour of what you'll find!

1. The main HTML area where you can put your code, this is what gets rendered on the live site!
2. A notes pad for planning and discussing the page, this is not rendered on the site!
3. A separate CSS file for the page is included by default, this link opens that css file in a new tab.
4. The “Public View” link opens the live page in a new tab.
5. This is where you name a page to open or create it.
6. The editor offers syntax highlighting, you can select the highlight type you want here.
7. The names of editors is listed on the left (only if your screen is wide enough)
8. If you want to see past version of the page, you can view old code versions here.

You can make anything on the everyone site, but here are a few tips to get the most out of it:

1. Don't be afraid to edit other peoples pages, everything is here to be edited!
2. Aim to create a “Healthy Page” (see section below)
3. Think about what others might add to the page, are there things they can add?
4. Fill out the notes section! Add notes about how you'd like people to use the page!
5. Upload your images and other assets to the MelonLand FTP, so they don't link rot!

Pages are marked as healthy (or unhealthy) based on key factors like how many links they have, how many people edit them, how many images they have etc. You can see a pages details from its “Info” link! The Info link also includes a face to let you know the state of the page (dead, sick, healthy, guru), although please note it can take a while for this face to update.

The best thing you can do to improve a pages health is to ensure it has a few links going out to other everyone site pages. The pages you link don't need to exist yet, you can just add a link such as href=“bob” and if the bob page does not exist it will automatically be added to the todo page for others to create.

Healthy pages have:

• Between 2 - 6 links (to other everyone pages, outbound links are not counted)
• A few people who have edited them
• 2-10+ images
• 100-1000+ characters of text
• Autoplay audio
• Are edited every few months

Pages with less that 50 health are included in the needs work listing, you should go an help these pages out!

Healthy pages gain a few perks! If a page has 50+ health it will be “everywhere-linked” this mean any word matching the page name anywhere on the site will automatically link to that page. If a page has 70+ health, it will be included in the Random button!

If a page is internal (such as an iframe focused page) and does not need direct traffic, you can include the no-health opt-out tag, that will remove it from needs work, random and everywhere links.

You can use MelonLand FTP/Sneeze to host images/files. You are also welcome to hotlink media from other hosts such as nekoweb or neocities. Images are automatically proxied through the melonland image server to ensure they load fast regardless of where they are from!

Most Melonking.net and Melonland Forum animations are available as classes on every page!

MoMG Picture frames can also be used by default, just wrap your image in a frame div/span like so:

.picture-frame-1 to .picture-frame-5 are supported and will offer different sizes and colors of frame.

The Everyone Site supports some pages with file types e.g. if you title your page “hello.css” it will be processed as a css file instead of a webpage - this allows you to host community styles and scripts.

The supported file types are:

• .css - Processed as a CSS Style sheet
• .js - Processed as a JavaScript file
• .txt - Processed as a plain text file
• .xml - Processed as a plaintext XML file
• .x3d - Processed as a plaintext X3D file
• .json - Processed as a plaintext JSON file
• .jpg - Processed as a JPEG image
• .gif - Processed as a GIF image
• .png - Processed as a PNG image

All everyone pages embed the standard MelonLand nav bar as an iframe, the nav supports multiple themes and you can select the pages theme using a custom meta tag.

Supported themes include:

• default - The standard Everyone navbar
• basic - A more minimal navbar
• purple - The forums default pruple
• dream - The forums blue theme
• dreamlite - The forums blue theme in white
• arthub - The art hub theme

You may notice snippets on some everyone pages, these are data flags that tell the render to include extra data inside that element. An example snippet that will render the 8 latest artifacts as a list:

Snippets automatically receive a class name of their type e.g. “latest_artifacts”, plus inner elements recive class names based on their data structure, such as “image”, for the artifact image “title” for the artifact name, etc. This means that you can fully style snippets using CSS!

Here are the currently documented snippet types, if you need others request them from melon!

You can call ?api=X&target=Y on all everyone site pages.

Currently it supports 3 API calls: (Everything returns JSON data)

• texts - returns an array of text on the page
• links - returns an array of all text and urls of links
• images - returns an array of all image urls on the page

You can use the target= request to limit the api to part of a page using a CSS selector - for example:

# This will return all the text within links on the homepage.

https://everyone.melonland.net/links?api=links&target=.links
# This will return all the links and urls in the community links list (useful if you want to embed them in your own site)

Prior to July 2025 it was possible to create non-everyone site pads via pad.melonland.net ~ this feature has been retired.
