How to use it
Don't worry. This tool promises to not to share your site name and password with melon. For your own safety, closing the app will immediately forget your password, but will remember your site name. :)
Step 1: Type in your neocities credentials, in the “User” and “Pass” box. There is no authentication system for neocities, so you have to do it the old school way. :P
This next step could be different depending on what system you are using. It should be self-explanatory, though.
Step 2: Click on “Pick your save location”.
A window should pop-up. Find the folder you would like to save your website in, and then click on “Select Folder”, In example case we are gonna use the folder called “Test” on my desktop, but you can use whatever folder you would like.
Step 3 (Optional): Below it shows us the directory that we picked. If you would like to set a timestamp, leave the checkbox on. if you do not, then you can uncheck it.
Step 4: Click the shiny, colorful, button that says “Save My Neocity Now!”, to start downloading the website.
Step 5: Wait. It may take a long time depending how big your site is. It will show you the logs, just so you can see whats going on. If you want to stop the download, click on the button that says “STOP! Cancel it all!”
Step 6: Hooray! You successfully saved your site! When its done, you'll be able to see how many files found, how much the site itself weigh, how many files it downloaded successfully, and how many it failed to download.
